4P & 4H/T - PE is in the hall on Thursday & Games outside on Wednesday. Trainers are necessary for Games.
Our topic this term is...
Home and Away.
Within this topic we will be learning our local area of Roath and Cardiff. We will then compare and contrast Wales with Japan.
Blended Learning
How to complete a Google Classroom task:
- The children log into Google classroom using their Hwb email and Hwb password and click on their classroom (it will say either 4Park or 4Roath).
- The tasks will be under the 'classwork' section.
- Please upload the children's work (this could be in the form of an uploaded file or an uploaded photograph of the work) by using the 'hand in' section of the assignment.
Spellings
Weekly spellings will be tested every Monday. Children are expected to learn these spellings throughout the week. Little and often is the key. We do go over the meanings of the words, but it would be great if this could be reinforce by you asking your child to put the words into sentences.
There is also a 'word of the week' which is a low frequency, impressive word which we will encourage them to use in their learning over the week.
If they score full marks for 3 weeks in a row then they will be moved onto more challenging spellings.
The children will be tested on these words Monday 22nd May .

Year 4 Skills Coverage- The National Literacy, Numeracy and Digital Competence Framework is designed to help teachers embed literacy, numeracy and digital competence into all subjects for learners aged 5 to 14. We have provided specific links to year 4 Rights Respecting School We are officially a Rights Respecting School! The Rights Respecting Schools Award puts children’s rights at the heart of schools in the UK. Unicef works with schools in the UK to create safe and inspiring places to learn, where children are respected, their talents are nurtured and they are able to thrive. Our Rights Respecting Schools Award embeds these values in daily school life and gives children the best chance to lead happy, healthy lives and to be responsible, active citizens. Using the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) as our guide, we are working with more UK schools than almost any other organisation. Over 1.6 million children in the UK go to a Rights Respecting School and nearly 5,000 schools up and down the country are working through the Award. Schools work with us on a journey to become fully Rights Respecting. Autumn 1- Welsh Skills Sentence to practise at home: Gwersylla (Camping) Wyt ti eisiau gwersylla? (Do you want to go camping?)
